The last few months were honestly messy.
College work kept coming. Assignments. Projects. Exams. And in between all that, I kept thinking about money. Not big money.
Just enough so I didn’t have to ask at home for every small thing.
I tried random stuff online. Surveys. Apps. A few ideas people recommend on YouTube. Most of it didn’t work. Some of it felt like a waste of time. After a point, I stopped expecting anything.
One evening, while talking to a friend, AI tools came up. Not in a serious way. Just… “you should try this.” I nodded and forgot about it. Later that night, I searched anyway. No big plan. Just curiosity.
That’s how it started.
At first, I didn’t even think about earning. I was just tired of spending hours on basic work. Writing things took forever. Designing even a simple post felt annoying. Sometimes I’d open my laptop, do nothing for 20 minutes, and close it.
When I tried AI tools, it felt lighter. Not exciting. Just lighter.
Things moved faster. Not perfect. But faster.
Earlier, a blog draft could take half a day. With AI, I had something in minutes. It wasn’t good. I had to fix it. A lot. But at least I wasn’t starting from zero every time.
That mattered more than I expected.
The first real thing I tried was writing. I made a small Fiverr gig. No confidence. No expectations. Someone asked for product descriptions. Ten of them. Normally, I would’ve delayed it or overthought it.
This time, I typed the details into ChatGPT, read what came out, and rewrote almost every line. Changed words. Removed lines. Made it sound like something I would actually read.
When the client paid ₹500, I stared at the screen for a bit. Not because it was a lot. But because it worked.
After that, I didn’t suddenly become busy or rich. Some days nothing happened. Some days one small task came in. Slowly, a few clients returned. That felt good in a quiet way.
Design was another thing I avoided earlier. I never liked complicated software. Canva AI made it tolerable. Not fun. Just doable.
One client wanted Instagram posts. Five of them. I picked templates, changed colors, adjusted text, fixed spacing again and again. It still took time. Just not all day.
Video editing scared me the most. I had no idea what I was doing. Pictory helped me turn text into short videos without thinking too much. Nothing fancy. Just basic videos with captions and music. Some were average. Some were bad. But people were okay with that.
Short videos worked better anyway.
Copy.ai came later. Mostly for ads and descriptions. I liked that it gave options. I’d pick one, change it, sometimes mix two together. After a while, I started sending clients multiple versions without them asking. A few paid extra for that.
I didn’t plan any of this properly.
Most days, I worked for one or two hours. Usually at night. Sometimes tired. Sometimes distracted. I focused on one tool at a time because doing everything together felt overwhelming.
There were mistakes. Missed deadlines. Late replies. One client wasn’t happy once. I felt bad about that for days. But I didn’t stop.
AI didn’t make things easy. It made them possible.
I still had to think. I still had to edit. Some days I hated the work. Some days I questioned whether it was worth it. But at least I wasn’t stuck doing nothing anymore.
That’s all this is.
Not a success story. Not a guide. Just something that worked a little better than what I was doing before.
I’m still learning. Still unsure half the time. But now, when I open my laptop at night, it doesn’t feel pointless.
And honestly, that’s enough for now.
